Narrative Ideas

This is the beginnings of a 6 week narrative project to create and illustrate a story. Mine is based around inspiring young children to spend more time outdoors and to be creative with their garden's.
It is about a family who move from a flat into their first house with a garden. The garden is dismal to begin with but soon the children learn to make the most of the space they have been given and to reuse the things that they already own to make something different. Their parents are surprised and impressed!

On location in Elephant and Castle

A very interesting first visit to Elephant and Castle. Despite it being a pretty miserable day, I enjoyed my day (even sitting in the underpass) and met some nice and interesting people...and earned 20p.

Reporting from...Cornwall

Had a great weekend away in Cornwall relaxing, and a little drawing too.
These two were completed sitting on St.Mawes harbour on a much sunnier day than London was having! Oh yes, and a cream tea in between.

Fine

Here are some finished double pages from my finished short story from our first project of the year.

At the moment my story is made up of images alone, but looking now at the images I am eager to put some text in the negative spaces. I think this would work...

'A Story Unfolds'

This is the beginning a new little project in which we have been asked to create a narrative from an odd selection of words.

My story is about a boy who, inspired by the music he hears on a gramophone, decides to learn to play the piano. I want to show that point you reach when learning to play an instrument at which you become totally disillusioned and frustrated, unable to achieve what you want to. The boy overcomes this dark stage in his learning and is finally able to express himself.

A Winter's Tale

A few drawings from a festive two weeks away at home, inspired by my much loved collection of gloves.

More to come...
